Character Information
Name: Guri
Canon: Star Wars
Canon Point: From the end of her canon in “Shadows of the Empire” follow-up comic series
OU/AU/CRAU/OC: OU
Age: Imprecise, but she is a Human Replica Droid, so she was ‘born’ matured, as it were. She may have only been active for a decade, however.
World Information: She’s not exactly of one world, but the Star Wars galaxy she inhabits is one in the process of rapid, chaotic change after the Battle of Endor. With the Black Sun criminal empire destroyed, and the Galactic Empire fracturing in chaos, every level of society across most of the known galaxy is in upheaval. In the furthest reaches, mostly untouched by the war, this is not the case – but every world of any importance has felt it deeply.
Beyond that, we’re talking about the typical Star Wars universe, ‘Legends’ or otherwise. It is a world of curious dichotomies – high technology in some places, but less advanced in others. And the benefits of said technology are spread horrendously unevenly.
There is little justice, and less peace. And in the middle of that rests perhaps the most advanced being in existence – simply trying to discover who she is and what that means.
Personal History: https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/GuriPersonality: There are, in essence, two Guris. The past one was the ruthless right hand of the galaxy’s most powerful criminal mastermind. That Guri is gone – what remains is one who retains some of the personality of old but is in a much larger sense searching for meaning, purpose, and just who she is.
The carry-over from the old personality is a desire to find challenges equal to her. In the past, Guri would attempt to do this by trying to find an opponent who could defeat her in hand-to-hand combat. Notably, this surpassed any droid’s usual logic or response to such issues – Guri would engage in hand-to-hand combat even when she didn’t have to, and even when it might have been non-optimal to do so.
Since then, she has both met her match – it took the Jedi Luke Skywalker to manage it – but she also had forcibly deleted the memories of who she was. What it tells people about her personality that she willingly and eagerly deleted the information that would have allowed her to rule as unchallenged master of a galaxy-spanning crime syndicate will differ from person to person – but she has no care whatsoever for personal power, and even less to wield it over others. That desire to find her limits was everything, and likely will remain so.
This will tie to finding a new purpose – one that the environment of this game will help her with. Missions will keep her keen, and provide answers to that need for challenge.
She is also inquisitive by nature, and when given a choice will, in her present form, avoid fights – but will absolutely intervene when necessary. In short, her personality has some baselines but is in a period of transition. She is viewing organic life from the outside, and with a lack of certain experiences – which leads inevitably to a sort of Commander Data-like naivete, though she has a much, much better understanding of the darker side of human nature.
Key themes: Discovery of her purpose will be a key theme, as she is trying to find something more than simply existing. In addition, seeking challenge will remain a key theme, just expressed in different and various ways. This will dovetail into exploring humanity, and what it means to her – she has had a number of human experiences (and certainly isn’t limited from any of them) but genuine connections and the deeper parts of what it means to be human remain beyond her ken. Lastly, and most importantly, discovering her nature will become more and more key. She is far more than a machine, but what makes a human? Does she have a soul? Is she alive? These are the sorts of questions that will occupy her mind.
Main Motivation: Finding herself and figuring out the answers to the big questions listed above.
Skills: Guri is, in many ways, a normal human woman – albeit one who has trained herself extensively in martial arts and has worked her body to peak physical condition. She was designed to be visually appealing, so essentially imagine Marilyn Monroe if she could yeet a Hutt, to use the vernacular. But her sinews and skeleton are artificial – so her reflexes are significantly better than human norm, and she can run faster, further, jump higher – and is significantly stronger than human norm. She’d likely be in the range of characters like movie-verse Captain America in terms of strength and durability. And thanks to her AA-1 verbobrain, she has perfect memory retention, a vast ability to learn languages and assimilate data, and can assimilate data far quicker than humans. This also extends to enhanced senses.
Item: Her paired blaster pistols.

Notes: To quickly explain the whole HRD rigmarole, most of them are just simply droids with flesh over top, meant to mimic humans – and generally not terribly well under any sort of scrutiny. They are to Guri as a fingerpainting is to a Rembrandt. She is the ultimate expression of the craft, and absolutely blurs the line between artificial and ‘natural’ life. It takes advanced medical scanners to even detect she isn’t completely human – the only tell is that her natural body temperature is a few degrees lower than human standard.
In bodily terms, she can function 100% like an any organic human woman, right down to eating, sweating, and digesting. (The concept of pregnancy is never addressed anywhere – so this one’s a bit of a question mark.) Her skin is real, grown specifically for her. Her hair even grows. She is closer to human than the MCU Vision, in physical terms, to have a sort of benchmark.
